I have always been a fan of The Sartorialist. Always have been and most likely always will be. From his first stunt on the original website to the time Vogue picked him up and made him a part of 'them', the Sartoralist had always picked out the best looks off the runway from the cool grey cobbled streets of Paris to the small pebbled back streets of Milan; the Sartorialist was there finding the best style possible and documenting it on the internet.
I don't really recall any other street style photographer who could compete with The Satorialist other than Jak and Jil, who are personal favourites of mine. There is always something unique and captivating about the types of photos he took of the woman clad in vintage Givenchy and Valentino to the more fashionable elderly clad in an eccentric mix of John Galliano styled clothing. As a result, rumor has it that the Sartorialist will be launching a new coffee table book published by (rumor has it yet again) Harper Collins. I'm excited to see it but then again, should all the contributions and thanks be aimed solely toward him? What about the fashionable people he has taken photos of? Do they get a say in this? It is the street style photographer vs. the stylish people on the street. And on a final note, I have a question; is it the chicken or the egg which makes the Sartorialist what he is today?
